Earnestine Jeneice Reyes

Ernie peacefully transitioned to heaven on Thursday, February 1, 2018 after a gradual decline in health.  She was surrounded and supported by her loving family during her last days on earth.  She was the daughter of the late Eddie Paul Johnson, Sr. and Clara Mae Johnson.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, L.C. Mack and John Johnson; sister, Martha Jean Ratcliff; and precious grandchild, Shantel Grice.  

Ernie was the wife of the late Angel Reyes.  She had two beautiful children, Karan (Kitt) McClian and Terrance Pouncy.  They blessed her with three grandchildren, DaShawn D. Smith, Keyante J. Madison and Laurie A. Madison, IV; and two great grandchildren, Xyjourney Madison and Rio Madison.

Ernie, aka Princess, was born in Dawson, Georgia, but grew up in Quincy, Florida.  She began her educational career at Stevens Elementary School in Quincy, Florida and finished it in Newark, New Jersey, where she attended trade school.  She worked for Verax Tech for over 20 years and moved on to work for the City of Newark where she retired three years ago.  After 40 years of living in New Jersey, Ernie moved back to Florida to enjoy her friends, family and the beautiful Florida weather.

Ernie came from a big and loving family; she was the 4th of 12 siblings.  Ernie leaves behind to celebrate her life and memories forever: beloved children, Kitt and Terry, loving grandchildren, DaShawn, Keyante and Laurie A. Madison; great grandchildren, Xyjourney and Rio; cherished siblings, Annie Taylor, Eddie P. Johnson, Ollie Mae Johnson, Mary Johnson, Henry Johnson, Barbara Johnson and Daniel Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
