Eddie Evans, Jr.

Eddie Evans, Jr., was the oldest of eight children.  He was born on March 27, 1951, in Oak Grove, Florida to the union of Eddie Evans, Sr., and Lucy D. Evans.  Eddie was preceded in death by his father and brother, Michael Thomas Evans.

Eddie accepted Christ at an early age at Oak Grove A.M.E. Church in Oak Grove, Florida.

Eddie received his education in the public school system in Gadsden County and graduated from Carter Parramore High School in Quincy, Florida.

Eddie was employed by the Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida for a year and then he decided to join the United States Air Force.  He retired from the Air Force after twenty-one and a half years of service.

Eddie departed this life on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Seven Hills Rehabilitation Center.  He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother: Lucy D. Evans of Oak Grove, Florida;  one son: Robin Evans of Valdosta, Georgia; four brothers: Aloysious Evans (Myra) of  Attapulgus, Georgia, Thurston B. Evans of Atlanta, Georgia, John D. Evans of Greenbelt, Maryland, and Richard E. Evans (Rochell) of Los Angeles, California; two sisters: Mercedes A. Evans of Oak Grove, Florida and Mary N. Evans of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.  Additional persons left to cherish his memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
