Ella Mae Gilbert

Ella Mae McCallister Gilbert, better known as BayBay, was born May 26, 1953 in Quincy, Florida, to Susie Bell Rhynes and Issac McCallister.  She was raised by her grandmother in Campbellton, Florida after her father was deceased at a very young age.  She attended St. Paul Elementary School and St. Paul High School in Campbellton, Florida until May 1970 and later obtained her GED in 1971 in Quincy, Florida.  She departed this life on November 1, 2024, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, Tallahassee, Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children: Willie Price, Jr., Dexter Gilbert, and Andrea M. Price; sister, Ira Nell Johnson; brother, Jesse J. Johnson; and a host of other close relatives.

Ella Mae (BayBay) leaves to cherish her memories her daughters: Cassandra M. Gilbert (John) of Campbellton, Florida and Tunya Banks (Curtis) of Quincy, Florida; son, Harronice Cannon (Jasmine) of Tallahassee, Florida; sister, Helen Rhynes of Campbellton, Florida; brother-in-law, Robert Johnson of Quincy, Florida; special nephew, Andre’ M. Jones (Lillian) of Cordova, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other close relatives and friends.
