Howard Moore Obituary

Howard McKenneth “Kenny” Moore was born in Bayboro, North Carolina to the late Mattie Garrison Moore and Howard Marie Moore on December 20, 1933.  In 1936, when Kenny was three years old, his family moved to Brooklyn, New York.  Kenny attended school and grew up in Brooklyn.  He began his career as a maintenance technician and supervisor in Brooklyn.

While they both lived in New York, Kenny met Bettye Henderson.  In 1972, Kenny and Bettye were united in Holy Matrimony. To this union, one son, Patrick Stephone Moore, was born. The couple relocated to Havana, Florida where they unitedly raised children and grandchildren.

Kenny joined the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Havana, FL, where he enjoyed attending Sunday School and church alongside his wife, Bettye.  Kenny and Bettye attended New Jerusalem until their health began to fail. Kenny loved his family and always showed concern for the welfare of others.

Brother Howard McKenneth “Kenny” Moore leaves to treasure beloved memories of his life:  his loving wife:  Bettye Jean Henderson Moore; children:  Patrick Stephone Moore (Dawn) and Cynthia Merrill Artis of Havana, FL, Alonzo Moore (LaTashia) of Tallahassee, FL, Valerie Casey, Howard McKenneth Moore III, and Parnell Moore of Brooklyn, NY, Patricia Patterson of Atlanta, GA, Darnell Moore of Orlando, FL, and LaWanda Moore of Woodstock, PA; brothers-in-law: Cleveland Lockman of Jacksonville, FL, Hernon Henderson of Manassas, VA, Earnest Henderson of Tallahassee, FL, and Bobby Henderson of Orlando, FL.

Also mourning the loss of Brother Kenny are dear grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.

Three children preceded Kenny in death: Claude Moore, Dewayne Moore, and Lisette Moore. Kenny’s siblings that preceded him in death were: Baby Moore, Beatrice Marie Moore, and Evelyn Moore.

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.  For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.”

 I Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NIV)
