Mother Mary Lee Johnson was born on April 29, 1940, in Damascus, GA to the late Reverend Wade Webb and Mother Francis Webb. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Brother Jimmy Lee Johnson Sr. The 14th of May 2024 she answered the Master’s call and transitioned into her heavenly home.
She accepted Christ at a young age and made a personal commitment to God. She initially joined Shiloh P.B. Church and later moved her membership to China Hill M.B. Church, where she faithfully served as an usher until health declined.
Later, she married the love of her life, Brother Jimmy Johnson, and together they were blessed with 8 children. Mother Mary was a devoted wife and mother, often found on her knees in prayer, covering her family with her petitions.
After 30 years of service, she retired from Mays Nursery. She enjoyed family gatherings, taking photos, and eating fried fish with RC Cola.
Mother Mary L. Johnson is survived by her 8 loving and devoted children: Barbra Evans, Deacon Jerry Atkinson, Deacon Jimmy Johnson Jr. (Betty), Elder Tyrone Johnson Sr., WounderJohnson, Lashawna Williams, Deacon Gerald Johnson (Tanesia), and Elder Pamela Johnson of Atlanta, GA. Her legacy lives on through her 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, Goddaughter Eurika Vickers, Caregiver Leatha Lumpkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
