Missionary Mary Williams Obituary

Missionary Mary Jane Williams, affectionately known as May was born on December 26, 1957 to Jafus and Clydia Mae Williams.

Mary Jane attended the Public School System of Gadsden County and was a proud graduate of Havana Northside High School Class of 1978.

At a young age, she met and married Minister Dock McGriff Sr. and to this union four children were born. Later in life, she met and married Pastor Christopher West and to this union three children were born.

May confessed Christ and was converted at an early age and had many church affiliations as she traveled throughout the United States. Her last spiritual connection was with The Church of the Living God, The Pillar and Ground of the Truth. She was such a very quiet, kind-hearted person who had love and compassion for all mankind.

Missionary Mary Jane Williams leaves to cherish her love and memories: a loving and devoted daughter: Shervon McGriff ; five adoring sons: Dock McGriff Jr., Jeremiah McGriff, Christopher West, Samson West, and Micah West; eight grandchildren Jacquez Williams, Dock McGriff III, Amaya McGriff, Arriona McGriff, Jaliyah Moore, Arriona McGriff, Sasha McGriff, Arial West; eleven siblings: Elbert Jones (Pastor Sylvia), Ella Jean Harris, Earnestine Weston, Joanne Williams, Beverly Williams, Faristine (Phillip) Derico, Verna Mae Williams, Carrie Williams, Darryl (Madeline) Williams, Kenny (Darlene) Williams, Jeffrey (Angelika ) Williams; a special nephew: Rexterrance Gary, a special niece: Linda Evans and host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son: Vandoris McGriff, father: Jafus Williams Sr., mother: Clydia Mae Williams, and seven siblings: Donald Lewis, Virginia Weston, Elease Williams, Leeroy Williams, Blondine Williams, Joe Williams and Jafus Williams Jr.

Due to the spread of The Coronavirus (COVID-19), at this time all gatherings at Ivey Funeral Home we are requesting everyone to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
