Sandra Barbara Youmas was born on May 30, 1958, in Havana, Florida, to Mrs. Pearl Ellison (Henry) and the late Mr. Johnny C. Barber. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the Ushers’ Board, until her health began to fail.
She was a proud graduate of the Havana Northside High School Class of 1976. She continued her education at Lively Vocational Technical Center and earned her certificate in Administrative Services. She was employed with Florida State University for many years before retiring on December 17, 2019.
She was united in holy matrimony on November 24, 1981, together they reared their only son.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: a loving husband: Raymond Youmas of Havana, FL; devoted son: Joey Youmas of Havana, FL; goddaughter: Kimberly Sailor (Dereck) of Havana, FL; sisters: Mary Johnson (Felix) of Baton Rouge, LA; Deborah Shaffer, Irene Ellison, Linda Ellison, Fanita Brown (Kenny), Janice Reed (Bruce), Winnifred Sampson (Reggie), Tiffany Ellison, Vicki Kenon (Kerry) and Jeanine Barber; brothers: Marcus Evans, Henry Ellison, Jr, Bobby Ellison, Stanley Ellison, Sr, Tylor Ellison, Sr. (Shaunda), and Clarence Barber; in-laws: Coretta Maynor (James) of Hinesville, GA, George Youmas (Connie) of Havana, FL, Eddrie Moore (late Everett) and Willie Youmas of Tallahassee, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
